ALCOHOL BEVERAGES
Alcohol is created when fruits, vegetables or grains are fermented. Fermentation is the process in which yeast or bacteria is used to change the sugar of the food into alcohol. Alcohol has many different forms and used as antiseptic, sedative and cleaner as well.
Alcohol Beverage is the name given to drinks which contain alcohol or say ethanol. These are divided into three general parts:
Wine:
Wine is made up from the fermentation of grape juice and a long aging process which may be months and years.
Beer:
Beer is the world most widely consumed after water & tea. Beer is the world’s oldest alcohol beverage possibly dating back to be 6000 BC.
Spirits:
Distilled, unsweetened alcohol beverages which have an 20% of alcohol content are called Spirits. Spirits are produced by the distillation of the fermented product. These can be added to wines to create port and sherry; the fortified wines.
